Who We Are

The Alliance is a group of family, agency, and young adult representatives passionate about sharing stories and creating policy level change for children and youth with unique challenges and their families. Click here to learn more and become a member today!

The ACYUC Leadership Team is elected every 2 years. They are responsible for guiding the strategic direction of the Alliance with input from all members.

Who We Serve

We focus on policy change efforts that impact children and youth with unique challenges and their families. Children and youth with unique challenges are age birth to 26 and have an ongoing condition and/or disability. This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Asthma
  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder
  • Diabetes
  • Fragile X Syndrome
  • Life Threatening Allergy
  • Muscular Dystrophy
  • Paraplegia
  • Vision or Hearing Impairment

Children and young adults with unique challenges frequently need or use care that most children don't, including:

  • Counseling
  • Hospitalization
  • Nutrition
  • Special Education
  • Specialty Health Care
  • Therapies (physical, occupational, speech, etc.)
  • Other Services Related to the Condition
