The County is introducing new supplemental health benefits administered by Securian. Employees can add Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity Insurance. These benefits can be used to help pay out-of-pocket costs, as well as additional living expenses. Coverage is available to Employee, Spouse, and Dependent Children (under age 26).
These new supplemental health benefits can only be elected during the Open Enrollment window or within 30 days of a Qualifying Life Event (QLE). You can elect all of them or just one, in accordance with your needs. Moreover, these new benefits can be elected, even if you have waived County health benefits in the past. They supplement the County's health plans but are not dependent on them.
