Available funding through DERA State Diesel Grant Program
PHOENIX (March 10, 2017) – Maricopa County Air Quality Department (MCAQD) is administering the Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Diesel Emission Reduction Act (DERA) State Clean Diesel Program grant, which is designed to improve air quality by eliminating diesel emissions.
Organizations within Maricopa County who have fleets can apply for an immediate opportunity to receive a sub award for retrofit, re-power or replacement of qualified diesel fleet vehicles or equipment. The funding is to retrofit or re-power medium to heavy duty fleet vehicles with engine model years 1991 to 2010 and school buses 1991 to 2006 with a 2013 or newer model. Organizations also have the option to purchase new low-emission fleet vehicles or school buses or to replace old, high polluting fleet vehicles with a partial reimbursement.
All funded projects must conclude by September 30, 2018. All interested parties should contact Eddie Limon, Maricopa County Air Quality Department Grant Programs Administrator, at EddieLimon@mail.maricopa.gov. Funding is limited for the current award period and sub awards will be granted on a first come, first serve basis, based upon the applicant’s ability to complete the project by September 30, 2018.
