[ARCHIVED] 4 Million and Counting: County Gets PPE Where It's Needed Most

COVID19

Maricopa County Unified Command has stepped up to provide critical protection to the community during the COVID-19 pandemic.  Unified Command has now distributed more than four million pieces of personal protective equipment (PPE), including a significant distribution to schools as they work to reopen safely.

“Access to personal protective equipment has not always been easy during the pandemic, but Maricopa County has worked hard to obtain PPE and review and prioritize requests to get supplies to those who need it the most,” said Emergency Management Director Robert Rowley.  “Early in the pandemic, our focus was on long-term care facilities, acute care hospitals, and EMS transport.  Now, with more supply, we are able to meet a greater variety of requests, including enhanced support for schools.”

Total PPE Distribution

As of October 7, Maricopa County has distributed:

  • 1,783,048 Gloves
  • 531,150 Surgical Masks
